Subproject 子项目 9
Development of measures to mitigate the adverse effects of land-derived substances on Hainan’s coastal biota/habitats (seagrasses, corals, planktic and benthic organisms).
Dr. Daoru Wang (HAOFS)
Land-derived substances strongly affect the nearshore coastal zone endangering the integrity of coastal ecosystems and ecosystem services. The scientific results of all subprojects will be used to assess the status of Hainan’s coastal ecosystems, to develop measures for a sustainable management of the coastal zone and to mitigate harmful effects of already impaired organisms and habitats (seagrasses, corals, planktic and benthic organisms). The maintenance of coastal resources is mandatory and important for Hainan’s future economic development.
